This is a notice of new functions and new information related to web advertising.


1. Yahoo! Display Ad Network (YDN)

Improved functions related to submission size, etc.

*The following functional improvement updates are scheduled to be implemented from late July to early August 2019.

① Submit images/videos according to aspect ratio

What will you be able to do?

As long as the aspect ratio (vertical/width size ratio) matches the image/video size specified by the ad type, you will be able to submit (upload) images/videos with a size different from the specified size.
Additionally, the upload size limit for images and videos has been raised, and images and videos that exceed the specified upload size will be automatically compressed.

Still image → 3MB / Video → 200MB

② In-feed ads now support delivery to PCs

■What will you be able to do?

In-feed ads, which deliver ads within the timeline, can be delivered to PCs. The initial distribution targets are as follows.

  • PC version Yahoo! JAPAN top page
  • Timeline of Yahoo! News etc.

What will happen to the in-feed ads that have been submitted?

The settings of already trafficked in-feed ads will not be changed. If necessary, you must check the device targeting item "PC".


③ PC bra panel supports editor submission

What will you be able to do?

The advertising method "PC Brand Panel" supports submission from the YDN version campaign editor and YDN API.
Please note that "PC Brand Panel" is an advertising method provided only to some customers, so you may not be able to use it.


④ Suspension of submission of animated GIF format images

■DoWill it change?

New submissions (uploads) of animated GIF format images will be stopped. However, images in the same format that have already been submitted can still be used in advertisements. Additionally, advertising distribution using images in the same format will continue.

2. Facebook ads and Instagram ads

① Messenger ad design change

How was it changed?

The new ad design consists of an "ad view" that is displayed on the home screen and a "details view" that is displayed in a pop-up after tapping the ad.
Currently only single images are supported, but we plan to support carousel formats and catalog ads in the next 1-2 months.

②28 days added to conversion window

About the conversion window

If the optimization target for ad delivery is conversion, you can set the number of days after an ad click or display to consider the CV to be used for optimization. This setting is called the conversion window. Up until now, you have been able to configure the following:

  • 1 day clicks
  • 7 days clicks
  • Clicks or views for 1 day
  • 7 days of clicks or 1 day of views

Conversion window added

  • 28 days after click
  • 28 days after click or 1 day after view

■What should I choose based on?

When selecting a conversion window, please select the period based on the following two points.

  • Product purchase cycle (consideration period)
  • Does the number of CVs in the ad set meet 50/week?


Listing Ad Optimization
